Singer Songwriter and popular disc jockey Samantha Ronson was born on August 7th 1977. The London born singer and DJ currently live at Los Angeles, California. Samantha Ronson's father Ann Dexter-Jones was a writer and socialite and mother Laurence Ronson was an entrepreneur and real state investor. Samantha was raised under Conservative Judaism. She has mostly Ashkenazi Jewish blood with ancestral links to Russia, Austria and Lithuania. Samantha's family was well to do in London with reasonable political and business circle. Noted politicians Malcolm Rifkind and Leon Brittan are related to Samantha Ronson's family. Samantha has a twin sister by the name Charlotte Ronson and a brother Mark Ronson, charlotte is a fashion designer while brother Mark is Music Producer.
Samantha's parents divorced during Samantha’s childhood. Mother Laurence Ronson later married Guitarist Mick Jones of the band 'Forigner'. Samantha was not particularly inclined to music during childhood although her family had environment dedicated to music. She occasionally toured with 'Foreigner' during her vacations. Her Stepfather and brother often discussed music at home. Samantha slowly imbibed the music from her family and at the age of 16 was part of a Rap band by the name 'Low Lifes'.
At the age of twenty, Samantha started her DJ carrier at a New York Night club where she used to hangout previously; initially reluctant Samantha accepted the offer due to persuasion of friends. Soon Samantha started filling in for his brother Mark at other night clubs while he was busy with his upcoming album. Her DJ talents soon got recognition, Samantha Ronson has credit of DJying major events for top notch celebrities and events including but not limited to Jessica Simpsons Birthday Party, MTV's Video Music Awards at Miami, ElleGirl Prom, IFC Awards, Play station at the Super Bowl and Sundance. One of her most memorable performances was in 2001 at MTV New Year's Eve show held at MTV's Studio at Times Square, New York.
In an announcement during first half of 2002, it was revealed that Samantha Ronson's first album will be co-produced Duncan Sheik. In 2004 Samantha toured with American Vocalist JC Chasez on a tour named 'Schizophrenic' based on the name of his popular album.
Samantha Ronson was signed by Roc-A-Fella Records for which she released four songs by the titles, "Fool", "Built This Way", "If It's Gonna Rain" and "Pull My Hair Out". She also recorded her first album by the title 'Blue', all the songs of blue were written by Samnatha herself. One of her titles by the name "Built This Way" was featured in film "Mean Girls". Samantha Ranson separated from her label in first month of January 2008. She said she intended to concentrate on her first passion i.e. DJying.
Samantha Ronson also gained popularity due to her alleged and controversial relations with actress Lindsay Lohan. Media and paparazzo’s continuously kept following Ronson of this issue however; she kept mum on this topic stating privacy reasons.
